The 56th Richmond Oktoberfest takes place Friday, October 16 from 6–10 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex. Admission is currently $10 per adult, with German party music and Bavarian dancers included in the evening’s entertainment.
That makes it almost tailor-made for a playful Kourted date.
Feeling: Playful + Social
Budget: $25–$75
Kourted objective: Lighthearted connection
But remember:
The festival is the anchor.
It is not the entire plan.
This is not the date for heavy conversation in the first 20 minutes.
Let the environment do what it does best.
Send:
“I planned something fun for us Friday. We’re starting at Oktoberfest, trying a few things together, and I have a quieter stop in mind afterward. Wear something comfortable enough to walk and have fun.”
Easy.
Confident.
Complete.
Instead of buying separate full meals immediately:
“You choose one thing for us to share. I’ll choose the other.”
Then try both.
Or rate each choice:
Tiny shared games create interaction without making the evening childish.
Two admission tickets are only $20 total, leaving room in the $25–$75 tier.
A reasonable plan:
| Date Element | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|
| Admission for two | $20 |
| Shared food | $20–$30 |
| Drinks | $10–$15 |
| Coffee or dessert afterward | $10–$15 |
| Target | approximately $60–$80 |
That puts you around $60–$80, so if your maximum is truly $75, decide beforehand whether the second stop involves a purchase or simply a walk.
Budget leadership means knowing your limit before festival spending begins.
If dancing is happening and she seems comfortable:
Dance.
You do not need to be good.
That may actually be the point.
Or create another playful question:
“If we had to wear traditional Oktoberfest outfits next year, who would commit harder?”
The emotional objective is not sophistication.
It is allowing both people to relax.
Bring hand wipes or sanitizer.
Not glamorous.
Extremely useful when eating festival food.
That is Kourted thoughtfulness:
Solve a small problem before it becomes her problem.
Another option is simply paying attention to which dessert she mentions and circling back for it later.
Do not stay until the room feels exhausting simply because the event continues until 10.
Leave while you are still laughing.
Then transition to:
Ask:
“What kind of fun do you wish you made more time for?”
Or:
“What instantly makes you feel like a kid again?”
Now the playful event leads naturally into personal connection.
The plan is not a contract.
Anyone can buy an Oktoberfest ticket.
What makes your date different is that you:
That turns:
“Let’s go drink beer at Oktoberfest.”
into:
“I planned something fun for us.”
Plan the date. Build the look. Lead the moment.
She may remember the pretzel.
She may remember the music.
She may definitely remember your questionable dance moves.
But more importantly:
She will remember how easy it felt to have fun with you.
She will feel Kourted.
Which would you choose after Oktoberfest: dessert, coffee, a walk—or end on the high note and go home?
